The birth of Project M Vision Board

Recently I gave birth to a vision board unexpectedly, and I’m happy to report that the labor was very smooth, almost felt natural.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to a vision board creation session. I went thinking I was going to make a vision board for myself since I haven’t done one this year. What was very different about the creation process this time was that the leader took us through a visualization exercise before we started on the board. Going through this process reinforced what I already knew – that my life right now is really good, in all areas.

As we started working on the board, we sifted through hundreds or maybe even thousands of cutout images. I didn’t really know what I was looking for since I felt no lack in any particular areas of my life. I aimlessly picked up random images, waiting for inspiration. After a while, a theme emerged. I was picking up images of women, women with expressions that I envision for my clients! That was the beginning of the birth of the Project M vision board.

So, here’s a little narration of the board and my thoughts on the images that spoke to me:

There are 2 parts on the board, a small narrower section on the left which represents the current states of many women’s financial lives. They may feel constricted by lack of money, lack of support, or maybe lack of financial knowledge and tools. They may feel trapped in a cage by all the responsibilities they carry without having any space and time for themselves. Finally, while many women share the same worries or challenges, no one wants to talk about it – silence or denial become the norm.

The larger part of the board on the right is what I envision for women who have gone through a transformation. It’s a vision of women in charge of their own financial future, with passion, vitality, and endless possibilities. It’s also a journey, something important to remember. You may also notice the picture with topless women having a picnic in a park. Why the topless you may ask? Exposing ourselves often brings out the vulnerability in us. This image shows the strength and inner confidence of these women in overcoming vulnerabilities. Let’s get naked about truth and reality. We are in this together! Lastly, there is always a vision for raising a new generation of children with financial literacy.

It was a natural birth, no drugs or knife involved. I’m forever grateful!
